AlpenX 2022, Etappe 7: Von Zams nach Wenns

Die 7. Etappe unserer Alpenüberquerung auf dem europäischen Fernwanderweg E5 führte uns von Zams über den Venet nach Wenns. Zunächst brachte uns die Venetbahn von Zams (767m üNN) zur Bergstation auf den Krahberg (2212m üNN). Von dort ging es gut 300 Höhenmeter hinauf auf den Gipfel des Venet (2512m). Dieser Panoramaberg ist auch unter dem Namen Glanderspitze bekannt und bietet prächtige Ausblicke in alle Himmelsrichtungen. Von dort setzten wir die Wanderung auf einem recht breiten Gratweg fort bis auf den Piller (2471m) und von dort weiter zum Wannejöchl (2497m), von wo aus der Abstieg über den steilen Hang zur Galflunalm (1960m) erfolgte. Nach einer ausgiebigen Pause folgten wir dem Panoramaweg Richtung Larcher Alm und Wenns. Die Larcheralm erreicht, zweigte der Weg kurz dahinter nach rechts Richtung Wenns ab. Diesem folgten wir auf breitem Forstweg durch schattige Wälder in das Örtchen Wenns, wo wir im Pitztaler Hof eine komfortabler Unterkunft fanden. Insgesamt haben wir ca. 500m bergauf und 1200m bergab auf einer Strecke von ca. 20km bewältigt. Viel Spaß beim Zusehen! The 7th stage of our crossing of the Alps on the European long-distance hiking trail E5 took us from Zams via the Venet to Wenns. First, the Venetbahn took us from Zams (767m above sea level) to the mountain station on the Krahberg (2212m above sea level). From there it was a good 300 meters up to the summit of the Venet (2512m). This panoramic mountain is also known as the Glanderspitze and offers magnificent views in all directions. From there we continued the hike on a fairly wide ridge path up to the Piller (2471m) and from there on to Wannejöchl (2497m), from where we descended over the steep slope to the Galflunalm (1960m). After a long break, we followed the panorama trail in the direction of Larcher Alm and Wenns. When you reach the Larcheralm, the path branches off shortly after to the right in the direction of Wenns. We followed this on a wide forest path through shady forests to the small town of Wenns, where we found comfortable accommodation in the Pitztaler Hof. Altogether we managed about 500m uphill and 1200m downhill on a distance of about 20km. Have fun watching!
