Prayathnam once again brings to you varied content with the demonstration of the Asamyuta Hasta and Samyutha Hasta. Prayathnam spreads its wings into the social media forum with unique educational demonstration videos. Young talented artistes are Shruthe Raammohan, Ananya Duvvuri, Aishwarya Ramanan and Nikita Gopalakrishnan. About Artistes Shruthe Raammohan, disciple and daughter of Sasirekha Raammohan, began her training in Bharatanatyam at the tender age of 4. Her innate talent and passion has made her an asset to Kanagasabai, School of Bharatanatyam founded by her mother in 2002. Currently an undergraduate student at Ethiraj college for women, Shruthe has performed in all the major productions by Kanagasabai. She has given solo performances at Tejas Bāla Utsav ‘11, Tapas Dance Festival ‘14, Karthik Fine Arts Dance Festival ’15 and Tamilnadu Iyal Isai Nātaka Mandram’s Maha Sivarathri Celebrations ’15. Shruthe has also participated in television shows – Jaya TV’s ‘Taka dhimi Tha’, Podhigai’s ‘Konjum Salangai’, Vasanth TV and Peppers TV. She is ‘B’ grade artist of Doordarshan Kendra. Aiswarya Ramanan, disciple of Dr. S. Divyasena was initiated into dance at the tender age of 5. She completed her arangetram in the year 2010. She is the recipient of several awards and has performed on a variety of stages. She bagged the first prize in Kanaka Sabha national competition held in MumbaI, second prize in Akhil Bharathiya Sanskrithik Sangh competition held in Pune in 2008, first prize in “Thaka dimi tha” in Jaya TV and “Konjum Salangai” in Podhigai TV channel. She is also the recipient of Bharath Kalachar Scholarship and Ranjani Rajan Memorial Award. She was awarded the title "Bharatha Kala Mani" for completing all six levels of Yatnam examinations conducted by Prayathnam in 2014. ABOUT PRAYATHNAM Prayathnam is a forum of young, committed dancers and dance teachers dedicated to the idea of 'sharing' the knowledge of both the theory and practice of dance as a medium. We strive to reach out to the dance community, enthusiasts, and anyone else interested in the quest to better understanding of the art. Objectives of Prayathnam To broaden the scope of learning by conducting workshops amidst seasoned and experienced professionals. To institute a diploma course for 1-6 levels with specific syllabus and assessment with graded certification given by Prayathnam and recognized by a reputed body. To institute scholarships awarded by Prayathnam to the most serious student and best performers of the year in performance and theory. To make provision to facilitate compilation of theory notes to be used for advanced students of dance. To draw guidelines on the requisites of a dance school recognized by Prayathnam To go to local schools and rural areas to conduct workshops, lecture demonstrations and quiz competitions. To collate a database for existing songs and their lyrics with their respective inferences.
