On March 29, 2017, The University of Scranton’s Schemel Forum hosted David Myers, Ph.D., Sady and Ludwig Kahn Professor of Jewish History, UCLA and Hussein Ibish, Ph.D., Senior Resident Scholar, Arab Gulf States Institute, Washington, D.C. for a talk titled Shared Paths, Divergent Courses: Zionism and Palestinian Nationalism, Part 2 The Israel-Palestine Conflict, 1949-1979. This was the second in a series of three presentations exploring the history of the conflict as seen through Jewish and Arab eyes. This presentation highlights the state-to-state tensions between Israel and her Arab neighbors culminating in the peace accords signed between Egypt and Israel as mediated by US President Jimmy Carter.
