Today, we're system-testing every hardwired smoke alarm in a newly built home with canned smoke! Testing smoke alarms with canned smoke, such as Smoke Centurion or Solo A4, is a more reliable way to ensure they’re working properly than just pressing the test button. The test button usually only checks if the alarm’s circuitry and sounder are functioning, but it doesn’t verify whether the smoke sensor can actually detect smoke. Canned smoke simulates real fire conditions by introducing particles that trigger the sensor, ensuring it responds as it should. Over time, dust and debris can clog the sensing chamber, which might prevent the alarm from detecting smoke effectively. Canned smoke helps identify alarms that may be slow to respond or non-functional due to contamination or age. Thank you for watching!
