"VV", composed for So Percussion in 2015 and revised in 2018, is a unique piece where four percussionists perform as one. Through intricate patterns and selective dampening, they create a dynamic interplay of sound with M232 Vibraphone Mallets. The Vanderbilt Percussion Group, led by Ji Hye Jung, brings this complex work to life with sensitivity and precision. Vanderbilt Percussion Group is the Blair School of Music's Percussion Chamber music ensemble, performing contemporary works for both traditional and nonconventional percussion. This particular quartet is formed by different years of students - Jordan Kats (freshman), Riley Hale, Sarang Shravan (sophomores) and Ethan Malcolm (junior) who are in the percussion performance program.
