#DelhiCrime #PitampuraNews #DelhiPolice #WomenSafety #Rohini A shocking incident in Delhi has once again raised serious questions about the safety of women using app-based bike taxi services. The case has been reported from the KNK Marg police station area in North-West Delhi, where a woman alleged that a company app bike rider sexually harassed her during a ride and also threatened her. According to the complaint, the incident took place on March 12, 2026. At around 1:48 PM, the woman booked a two-wheeler ride through a company app from her residence as she had to go to MP Block Market in Pitampura, Delhi. Shortly after booking the ride, the bike rider arrived and she sat on the motorcycle as a pillion rider to reach her destination. Initially, everything appeared normal. However, when the motorcycle reached the Sector-13 dividing road on KNK Marg, the rider allegedly started misbehaving with her. The woman immediately resisted and objected to his behavior. Instead of stopping, the accused allegedly threatened her and warned her not to raise her voice. The woman was frightened by the rider’s conduct but somehow managed to stay calm. After some time, the rider dropped her near FU Block in Pitampura and left the spot. After the incident, the woman approached the police and narrated the entire incident. Taking the complaint seriously, the police at KNK Marg Police Station immediately initiated action. Based on her statement, a case was registered under FIR No. 97/26 dated 14/03/2026 under sections 74, 79, and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). During the investigation, police identified and apprehended the accused. He has been identified as Sachin, a 34-year-old resident of Village Badli in Delhi. The motorcycle used in the ride has also been seized and taken into police possession as part of the investigation. During further interrogation, police discovered that the accused had previously been involved in a serious criminal case. Records revealed that Sachin had earlier been named in a dowry death case registered at PS SP Badli in the year 2011. Police are now examining his past criminal record as part of the investigation. According to police sources, the accused Sachin is educated up to the 10th standard and has been working as an app-based bike rider for the past one year. He has been arrested and will be produced before the Hon’ble Court for further legal proceedings. Police officials stated that the investigation in the case is still ongoing and further action will be taken as required.
