The Scared & Abandoned Dog On A Chain In Borova (October 2025) @GARRescue

Last month when we evacuated 51 animals from Borova, there were several dogs that were just too traumatized to handle. They were scared, petrified, and sadly for them....alone. Sveta lives in Borova and has stayed behind when most others have left for a very selfless and noble cause. She is the sole lifeline that many of these animals have to be fed and cared for. Without her, they would starve and suffer a slow and horrible death. This boy was abandoned after the family where he lives evacuated. Thankfully, Sveta has been feeding him and keeping him alive through the fence. He is wary of strangers and suffers from fear aggression, which is a very common trait among the dogs we evacuate. When we all showed up he got even more anxious, and it was clear the only way to evacuate him was with sedation. He was pretty thin, and the video does not do justice for the actual condition he was in at the time. As you can see by the video, the dart found it's mark and the sedation took effect quite quickly. This was the best way to evacuate him and ensure that he did not hurt himself or others during the process. It is also much less stressful on animals like him who already are at elevates stress and reactivity levels. Just like many of the other animals we evacuate, he calmed down and was a different dog by the time we got him to Sirius Shelter the following evening. This is the rescue as it happened. No cuts and no edits. You can hear the drone detector chirping in the background throughout the video. Brian had several video intercept images come up on the Dzyga, so we know that there were numerous drones present in the area. We made multiple trips into Borova that day with Rose Of The Hand to save these animals. Thankfully the drones left us alone for the day so we could give these 51 innocent animals exactly what they needed..... A second chance.
