During the 2024 NSS convention, an all-day symposium was presented on Helm's Deep Cave in Perry Co., TN. These talks were recorded impromptu by Fern Dorethy, Nashville grotto member and current (as of 2025) editor of the Speleonews, the grotto newsletter. They have undergone some basic editing, pairing the talk footage with the presentation slides and captions for ease of viewing. Please enjoy! In the fifth talk, Patricia Kambesis presents 10 "enigmas" covering some of the broad questions about Helm's Deep: how was the cave formed? Why is such a large cave in the Western Highland Rim? Using the mineralogy of the cave, dye tracing, and her years of experience as a karst scientist, Pat seeks to answer these questions.
