On day two of my Colorado Trail thru hike I hiked my way through segment two and what is referred to as the "burn scar". An essentially barren, waterless, desert like section of the trail. I believe this scar was caused by a fire that occurred a few decades ago. The terrain itself was pretty easy going but due to the 90ish degree heat and crossing the scar during the middle of the day it made for a hot sweaty adventure of making sure I did not drink all my water over the 10 miles. After completing the desert area the local fire dept allow you to fill up your water there. A life saver. Proceeded on a few more miles over some more fairly easy terrain to make it roughly 17 miles. Please note that I am not recommending any of the gear seen in any of my videos. The gear I use is what I have found works best for me at the time period I am using it. I have come to these gear choices through vast levels of trial, error, and experimenting with gear out on trail. Gear, clothing, footwear, etc. are not one style works for all. Do as much research as you can, try out things in person if able, and make the best informed purchase decision for YOU. Do not buy gear just because it worked for, was showcased by, or recommended by someone on YouTube
