Wow - this is one of the richest neighborhoods in the nation! For this edition of dashboard tours, the plan was the opposite from the trip I had just taken into the bowels of the worst hood in the state of Connecticut. On this afternoon, I’d take a tour of the richest and most exclusive section of town in the state of Connecticut. So I exited off of I-95 south and headed for Greenwich, which is not only the wealthiest community in the state, but one of the richest towns in the nation. For this route, I chose an area that had the biggest and most expensive homes. I settled on an area here, kind of in a windy road part of Greenwich and just sort of explored the area to see what it looked like. For those of you who are wondering how much these homes go for, the average home we’ll see goes for well over $2 million bucks. However, some are priced at $900,000, and many are well over $4 million. What do these people do that they can afford such luxurious homes? The average household income here is about $250,000, but many people here make waaaay more than that. Many work in New York City, which is about an hour drive away. They are hedge fund managers, entrepreneurs, doctors, lawyers, and work in the banking and entertainment industry. To be middle class here in Greenwich, you make about $180,000 and $400,000.
