A man, Dr. Clemens (Charles Dance), wanders alone along the shoreline when he sees the crashed EEV just offshore. He then spots a strange figure lying on the beach. It is Ripley, covered in mud and small insects and barely alive. Clemens takes her inside and warns the prisoners that an EEV has crash-landed, and that they need to extract it from the water quickly. He performs CPR on Ripley, who starts breathing again.
