From the time when Galileo Galilei discovered Porter Robinson when writing our album "Portal", to us, Porter was always an artist that stood in a beautiful yet somehow nostalgic scenery far far away and was a very special person to us. Our love and admiration for Porter made us feel like he lived in a completely different world. But, through this session and hearing Porter’s side of the story, I realized that we had actually been walking side by side all this time. Not only is it the way we feel about music, but the thoughts we had growing up and our vibe as a person are all so similar. We were so moved when we found out that Porter actually translated and understood the lyrics I wrote, and not only that, he understood the detailed phrases and sounds of BBHF and Warbear (my other music projects) as well. He loved our music as much as we loved his. Porter Robinson and Galileo Galilei had watched over each other's music all this time. Because of this special connection, the session with Porter was instantly filled with the same joy and comfort as when I’m immersed in music with my bandmates, who are also my childhood friends. It was such a magical time. Our album "Bee and the Whales" released this year, was largely influenced by this experience and contains a lot of what we learned during our session with Porter. I wrote a song called "Father" immediately after the session. Porter's album "Nurture" was a very strong inspiration. When I watch the Porter Robinson x Galileo Galilei session footage, every time I mutter to myself, "I wish I could go back to this time again...". From the top of each of our paths, we waved and nodded, then looked straight forward again. I will never forget that moment.
