Our very first #4x4 #adventure to Baviaanskloof in the #easterncape #southafrica #hiking #camping #outdoors #nature #biodiversity #natureadventure #outdooradventure Our first stopover was in Prince Albert in the #karoo where setup #camp at Olienhof Cottages and Caravan Park. This quaint little town is at the foot of the Swartberg mountain range. We explored the beautiful town and had amazing #burgers and #beer at Karoo Bierstro (@karoobierstro) and great #hospitality We did a challenging #hike at Bushman's Valley and then headed through the incredible Swartberg Pass to our next #destination #travel There are various hiking #trails one can choose from. We did the yellow trail which has a rating of intermediate to difficult. The views are incredible The following night was spent camping at Doringkloof Bush Camp which offers shady bush campsites with 220v power and clean ablution facilities After a good night's rest we explored the Baviaanskloof 4x4 trails and many river crossings to get to our next #campsite #bruintjieskraal Bruintjieskraal campsite is situated in the scenic Grootrivier Poort – the entrance to the Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area in the Eastern Cape #southafricatourism The Baviaanskloof, which means ‘valley of baboons’ is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with gorgeous mountain scenery, steep passes, amazing flora and wildlife There is plenty to do in the area from hiking, 4x4 trails, waterfalls, #mountainbiking and #rockclimbing We spent two nights camping and enjoyed #swimming in the river as the temperature in the day was 40 degrees Celsius The weather was amazing for April which made for a very pleasant camping #experience Our final night was in #wilderness Wilderness is a seaside town on the #gardenroute of the southern Cape in South Africa The scenery of #forests #rivers and #mountains are absolutely breath-taking We rented a #canoe from @eden_adventures paddled up the Touws River to and did the waterfall hike which is mostly on a boardwalk with an easy rating Our day ended off with a delicious #pizza and #beer from Pomodoro a charming family #tratoria in the heart of the Wilderness Village Unfortunately we had to get back to #capetownsouthafrica for work so only had six days to adventure this time but we will definitely be back to #explore the area more Thank you for watching!
