I traveled across Mauritania with my motorcycle starting from the northern border with Morocco—passing through the challenging No-Man's Land—to the southern border with Senegal. The road was rough in many sections, often blanketed with sand. Along the way, I encountered numerous plows working to clear the sand from the roadway. It was fascinating to see the wind turbines generating electricity, powered by the region's almost constant wind. The journey along National Highway N2 spanned 650 kilometers (400 miles) and took two days, with an overnight stop in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania. As always, I paid close attention to refueling, as some gas stations along the route were quite basic. The journey offered a mix of challenges, including desert landscapes, camels crossing the road, and the almost constant sand and wind.
