Being beach lovers, during a recent trip to Kerala, we hunted around for the best sandy stretch around Kochi. Finally we found the stunning Cherai beach at Vipin Island, a boat ride away from the Kochi or Ernakulam jetty. One can also drive or take a bus to Cherai Beach. It is 40kms from Fort Kochi and 25 kms from Marine Drive, Ernakulam. Cherai Beach has an unending expanse of beautiful shoreline. The thin strip of golden sand was bordered by a layer of rocks along the promenade. There were quite a few sea facing restaurants serving sea food delicacies. We spent an amazing afternoon enjoying the sea and surf at Cherai. Our video showcases stunning visuals of the magnificent Cherai beach.
