From Ecuador to Peru! Our South America Road Trip Begins | Huaquillas, Santa Isabel | Worldtrip

Our South America road trip finally begins! After waiting four months for our car repair in Cuenca, Ecuador, we can finally start our long journey across the continent. Over the next months we will travel more than 16,000 kilometers through South America with our own car. In this episode we leave Cuenca and begin driving south through the Andes of Ecuador. Along the way we explore beautiful landscapes, fly our drone above valleys and deserts, and slowly make our way towards the border between Ecuador and Peru. We stop in Santa Isabel, discover a surprising desert landscape in the mountains, cross a shaky suspension bridge at Las Juntas, and drive through cacao plantations near the Ecuadorian coast. Before crossing the border, we explore the fishing harbor of Huaquillas, walk through a mangrove forest, and enjoy delicious local seafood. But just a few minutes before the border, something unexpected happens: our car suddenly refuses to start. Will we still make it into Peru?
