BIO: Bosschaert is the jack of all trades: DJ, producer, session musician and teacher DJ and producer at Kortrijk Conservatory. His playlist flashes in all directions: from classical piano to hard-hitting techno and 90's metal trash to Blue Note Jazz. But dance really gives him wings. At the age of 16 he scores a Studio Brussel hit with his first band Fu-Rame. Then Lt. Sprudel and the pleasantly crazy, successful Waar is Ken? Which with the help of KCRW DJ Chris Douridas even tours in America! Vantomme teaches at the same Conservatory. He plays piano, synths and guitar with artists such as Laïs,An Pierlé and Axelle Red, but jazz is his first and true love. For Vantomme, jazz is a house with many rooms. He is the driving force behind the classic Mahieu-Vantomme Quartet (W.E.R.F. label) as well as the experimental fusion band ROOT. He is very proud of his recent project Vegir (released on New York label MoonJune Records) with legendary bassist Tony Levin (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel, Stick Men, ...). What happens when these two intersect in the hallway of music centre Track. They talk about producing, sessions, live concerts and Bosschaert his plan to mix electronic music and piano improvisation. The spark ignites: Bosschaert + Vantomme = BOSHAARD. After only 2 days studiotime they’ve recorded enough material for their debut album. Concerts ensure that Boshaard develops a solid live sound. Armed with synths, drum machines and piano BOSHAARD explores a variety of musical genres: from neoclassical to club shows and heavy raves. Thanks to three cameras - all synced up to interact with both Bosschaert his live sampling and Vantomme his improvisations - Boshaard live concerts are nothing less than artistic audiovisual shows. BOSHAARD’s inspired by artists such as Nils Frahm, Kiasmos, John Hopkins, Four Tet, Chemical Brothers, Roni Size and Keith Jarrett.
