Here's a darling of a little 10 spline locker we have saved to live again. Bought from a customer who has had it under a bench for many many years this is a Pre Production 10 Spline ARB RD03 Locker, with bits missing ! Its easily identified by the 4 x bolts on the end cap, the RD03 & RD56s have 6 bolts, so I knew exactly what it was when I spotted it So The good points : This was made by engineers, No expense spared - the accountants got to it and changed (inferior) design Clever design - better by far than the later RD03 & RD56s Very Very Strong - VERY strong Steel internal cage (RD03 & 56s have a plastic one - cost cutting time ! High quality machining and build Billet end cap (RD03s and 56s have cast flange which is a constant weak failure point Bad Points : Parts near impossible to get / No spares What was missing we have found and added so 100% complete Needed a lot of Dr Diff Loving to bring it back ... And it is back, and it is frankly stunning. If you fancy a 10 spline locker I would say this was probably one of the very best designs ever made for many years, way better than RD03s, BUT, and its the big but, blow this up doing "Hold my Beer and just watch this " will prob turn it into unrepairable :O( BUT, if you have a series or an early 90, want a really well made, really good condition 10 spline diff, this has to be it. It can't be big bucks as its one of the prototypes, sadly a RD03 may be worth a bit more as more repairable, but, the condition and design / Build of this means its a perfect match for a series or 90 etc that wants a decent 10 spline locker that won't break the bank I really wnated to be sure I could save it - and we have, the condition is amazing, and as such I will list this unit on the webshop, and whoever fancies it can talk to us about how they wnat it built...ie 4.7 series or 3.54 std 90 etc etc. I just love the design, if this had been the final launched product I would without doubt have less work on, and these are super bloody strong 10 spline units Enjoy the video, if its still for sale there will be a few pictures and listing on the wen shop "pre Loved " Page Enjoy :D
