MICRO-HOLES FINISHING WITH MICROFLOW Micro-hole conditioning is used to remove micro burrs or to form a radius at the edge of a small orifice. Benefits of this process include stress relief, reduced cavitation, improved spray patterns, and flow rate tuning. MICROFLOW works in many applications that are not possible with conventional finishing methods, such as tiny holes 0.012mm – 3.0mm (0.0005” – 0.12”), internal passages, and holes requiring precise radius or flow rate calibration. MICROFLOW is a bit different from AFM. It uses a pourable liquid containing suspended abrasive particles that can fit into tiny passages. Because of its low viscosity, MICROFLOW is easy to clean up after processing and is well-suited to automated applications. MICROFLOW can remove micro-burrs at hole intersections, including those with complex geometry or obstructed locations that cannot be reached using conventional methods. RADIUS FORMATION - the radius forms on the inlet side where the media impacts the edge to be radiused. MICROFLOW can pre-wear sharp hole edges, increasing the lifetime of the component
