Stimulus Check: $2000 Proposal Emergency Money For The People Act (EMPA) Will There be Second Check?

$2000 Stimulus Check per month: Emergency Money for the People Act. The new proposal called the Emergency Money for the People Act that would give Americans additional money every month during the lockdown. We are seeing that many people are starting to get their Cares act stimulus check but it looks like it will not be enough to support people who are not able to work. This proposal is part of a few new proposals stimulus package that are coming out to provide a second stimulus check that include ongoing cash assistance to Americans for the duration of the lockdown. This new program involves monthly stimulus checks of $2000 per adult and $500 per child for up to 12 months. This proposal is designed to build upon the one time stimulus checks of $1200 for adults and $500 dependents. This update for the new stimulus checks will be the first of many as more and more members of congress start to create proposals to help Americans for the rest of the lockdown. Bill does not have the same under 17 year old dependent restriction as the Cares act. Each child would be eligible for $500 per child up to 3 children. Household of five would be $2000+$2000+$500 X3 = $5,500 per month per family for up at least six months More specifics Stimulus money will not count as taxable income. Stimulus money will not affect people's eligibility for state assistance programs (SSI, Medicaid,Covered California , Food stamps) People being claimed as dependent over the age of 17 will be eligible for stimulus check. Stimulus would continue until the employed to population ratio for people ages 16 and older is greater than 60%.
