STEP UP YOUR BEAR BAG GAME! - How to Hang a Food Bag + Tips and Tricks

I show 2 different techniques to hang a food bag to keep it away from bears and critters! I also briefly talk about alleged "bear proof" items such as the Ursack and the classic blue barrel. When you are out in the wilderness, hanging your food is a neccessity to keep it away from bears and other animals that try to get at it. A bear hang is especially useful during the fall as the bears are out and about trying to fatten up for the winter. These two techniques shown allow you to both deal with: -Pine trees and other situations where you can't find a branch that is strong enough to hang on 4 feet away from the trunk. Or maybe your throw is bad and the mosquitoes are thirsty for blood and you just don't have time to make 10 more attempts at a perfect throw over a branch 25 metres up. -Smart critters that have become comfortable around humans and campsites and have figured out how to cut the line on the tree that you have secured to. Or perhaps a singular tree and your line isn't long enough to tie it off. All you need is some basic knot knowledge and a stick! A carabiner helps quicken and simplify the process, but isn't necessarily needed. . . .
