So I've already made two versions of the grove theme, so I felt pretty comfortable going pretty out-there for this one. I looked around in my VST's and found a plethora of extended string techniques, and I got right to work. The bass is held by a swelling tremolo double bass do hide any manner of key center. For the melody, I shifted it to a minor and have it played by the violins and viola, but by hitting the strings with the wood of the bow for the sharp, shrill sound it creates. And for the coup de grâce, the cello section is playing a variety of runs and slides that I found. After setting this one down for a bit, I listened to it again and was thoroughly shooketh!
