V now attends the University of Oklahoma, and he travels every weekend to Dallas to record and perform at local clubs. He will be performing at the Hard Rock Café in Dallas this March, and will be opening for the likes of Slim Thug this May. Participating in poetry competitions since elementary school, rhyming has always been on Garrett's mind. Eventually a passion for music developed and it seemed to make sense for him to do both. He has only been working on his music for a year, and with his songs like "About to Blow" and "Beverly Hills Ride" he shows much promise. His goal is to represent the generation that he is in. He strives to encourage others to blaze their own paths in life, and not simply be the norm. He puts passion in to showing others that you don't have to follow a certain "path" in life to be happy, and successful. V is known around the DFW for his fast and attacking flow, but can also slow it down and soothe you with his melodic groove. This past summer he entertained at Dallas/Ft.Worth venues such as, The Door, The Curtain Club, and the Dallas Music Festival, with the group First Class Society. Together they went on to win the Dallas Battle of the Bands competition in July 2011. Garrett V and First Class Society released their first mixtape "Classified" and received immediate positive feedback from fans and executive producers from labels. Garrett V is now working on an untitled mixtape that will be due to release officially this summer. There are also talks of a possible iTunes single release as well.
