SOO Line 1003: The NRHS Special 8/23/25

1003's first outing of the year! Earlier this summer, it was announced that the Wisconsin chapter of the National Railroad Historical Society was celebrating their 75th Anniversary this year, and what better way to celebrate it? Have SOO Line Mikado #1003 do a special summer run of course! So today we made our way up to Wisconsin to see the 1003 partake on a well deserved run, but things wouldn't go according to plan for them. Starting with they had to wait for WSOR T4H to clear the mainline first and then they had to do some switching in Horicon for the WSOR, while this gave the crew a bit of a headache, it did make for some unique footage of 1003 at work! Aside from those hiccups, the crew put on a wonderful show as well as doing multiple photo runbys at certain spots which was a real treat! Seeing as 1003 normally gets out at least one day a year, it was really fun seeing her run today. I want to thank everyone at the Steam Locomotive Heritage Association and the Wisconsin Chapter of the NRHS for making this vent possible, it was a lot of fun!
