America's Toughest Trimmer Line Savage review [edited]

Disclaimer: received this product free from Lowe's Loop. It was worth every penny.... ;P I cannot recommend the Savage brand trimmer line at all. Definitely not "America's Toughest", at least in my trimmer. So, either it has absolutely terrible tensile strength, or I have a terrible trimmer head or technique. Either way it lasted about 1-2 minutes. Edit: The manufacturer contacted me and offered a replacement and some advice... This line just doesn't work well in hybrid heads, but actually does pretty well in a spool when your technique is to feed it (or auto feed) every 30 sec or so to keep fresh line coming out past the feed ring. The metal reinforced feed ring (whatever the proper name is I dunno) where the line comes out is the main break point for ALL trimmer line, no matter how strong it is. If you let line sit there too long, it bends, warps, gets weak, breaks off and of course then springs back inside the spool. Only continually feeding fresh line through the feed ring prevents this breaking. Annoying? Yes, but there is NO trimmer line immune to this break point. In fact, "tougher" trimmer line may lure you into feeding it less, and thus actually break more.
