The Overlooked Role of Language in Shaping Our Identity | Ashley T | TEDxYouth@HarrowHK

In Ashley’s talk, she wishes to explore the impact that languages and being multilingual can have on our identity. From our personality and the way we think to how we interact with others, it’s hard to imagine that the seemingly insignificant influence of the language we speak plays a vital role in all of these, affecting us in more ways than we are aware of. Ashley is a Y11 student from Harrow International School Hong Kong who is interested in languages, psychology and the relationship between the two. Learning and perfecting new languages is a passion of hers to explore a new culture and communicate with new people. Outside of school and the academic world, Ashley loves to read, especially crime and mystery. She also loves scrapbooking, writing poetry and anything capybara-related.
