OP DIGGI 2: Pakistani Terrorist Eliminated In J&K In Army-Police Joint Operation In Uri Sector

A Pakistani terrorist was killed in a joint operation by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Buchhar area of the Uri sector. The operation was launched during the intervening night of March 14–15 following specific intelligence inputs about a possible infiltration attempt in the region. Troops deployed in the area noticed suspicious movement in a thicket and repositioned their ambush to intercept the suspect. When challenged by security forces, the terrorist opened indiscriminate fire, leading to a brief exchange of gunfire. Security forces said the terrorist was eliminated during the encounter. Warlike stores, including an AK rifle, pistols and a large quantity of ammunition, were recovered from the site.
