UK - Tornado heads The Pennine Explorer - 22/5/2021

The recently built, LNER Class A1 pacific number 60163 Tornado had its first passenger carrying venture of 2021 when it headed The Pennine Explorer which ran from Leicester to Carlisle and back. Tornado was in charge of the train from Barrow Hill to Carlisle and then Carlisle to Hellifield. From Hellifield, Tornado returned light to York. In this sequence we see Tornado heading north through South and West Yorkshire and returning with her train to Hellifield in North Yorkshire and, later, travelling light (support coach only) to York. It's worth noting that Tornado handled a 13 coach train with ease. The train became a 12 coach train at Hellifield and two Class 47 diesels can be seen struggling to get it going uphill out of Hellifield, in my next release ..... coming TOMORROW !!!
