https://www.bookartsguild.org/post/pl... Gina Pisello is a book artist and paper engineer fascinated by line, shadow and texture. In her work, she strives to turn paper into dynamic, three dimensional sculptures that invite the viewer in and reward them with hidden depth and meaning. Her work consists of original book structures, altered books, and paper sculptures and explores temporal, historical, and natural themes. She also composes intriguing titles for her works. In addition to creating, Gina has taught book arts for over 18 years, focusing mainly on book structures she has invented. Membership in groups such as San Diego Book Arts and Puget Sound Book Artists have given her opportunities to learn new skills and share discoveries with fellow artists. Her work has been accepted in exhibitions in San Diego County, University of Puget Sound, University of South Dakota, the Minnesota Center for Book Arts and the University of Western England, Bristol among others. Her work is in several private collections as well as the University of Washington and the University of Puget Sound special collections.
