Beyond Tellerrand title sequence - Played LIVE on OP-Z

For the last few months I’ve been working on a passion project in my evenings for my good friend Marc Thiele; the titles for the 2025 edition of his Beyond Tellerrand conference in Düsseldorf! I wanted to try something new, something I’d been noodling a lot on my own time - live, audio-reactive graphics. Thankfully Marc said ‘Yes’ to my question of “Could I ‘play’ the titles, live!?” and so after many hours of designing, configuring, testing and experimenting I got the chance to play for the conference audience last week! I got to create a unique musical beat for each of the 12 speakers, plus the event itself, which then sent MIDI signals from my musical sequencer (the Teenage Engineering OP-Z into the Unity Game engine, where I had split up my static designs into different layers, which then took those MIDI signals and moved, scaled and messed with them to the beat. I then captured all of that Unity game engine stuff on OBS, which let me add a live GoPro webcam onto the screen, to hopefully really show ‘hey, this is happening right now!’. To add a layer of unpredictability, I used the ‘performance’ mode on the OP-Z which let me mess with the musical track in realtime, also effecting the visuals! I had an absolute blast creating this, It’s been something I’ve been wanting to integrate into my personal work more and more over the last few years, big thank you to Marc for letting me give it a shot!
