How Denmark’s TOUGH Immigration Policies 'Killed Off The Far-Right'

Denmark has introduced some of Europe’s strictest immigration policies, and the UK is now looking at its approach. Danish minister Kaare Dybvad says that anyone who arrives illegally should be returned to their home country, and he argues that clear enforcement is essential. Denmark removes about 95% of rejected asylum seekers. If someone refuses to leave after a few months, they are moved to a return centre where they cannot work, study or fully take part in society. The aim is to prevent people with failed claims from settling. The UK has announced plans inspired by Denmark’s model, including making asylum temporary and extending the wait for permanent residence for people who arrive illegally.
