Mr. Teng Mah Seng was a Singapore Cultural Award recipient in (1987). As a strong advocate and pioneer of Nanyin, he wrote ‘Facets of Life’ which has been awarded the first prize in the 2010 Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. Integrated into Siong Leng’s signature production ‘Soul Journey’, ‘Facets of Life’ was performed in major cities around Europe, Asia, and also in the United States. To honour Mr. Teng’s innovative spirit in revolutionising Nanyin, his successors have now presented a new interpretation of his song, reflecting the moral standards of humanity through the perspectives of the younger generation. ‘Facets of Life’ is dedicated to our late Chairman, Mr. Teng Mah Seng.
