Wild Camps: A Research Project On Connecting Young People From Urban Areas With Nature

This short film was co-created with young people and presents some of the findings from our participatory action research project which explored the impact that nature immersion experience on a 5 day Wild Camp with Rewilding Youth had on them. Huge thanks to all the young people who participated in this research project and in the making of this film, especially to Ben Harris, Ruby East and Eden Sedman - our amazing Youth Researchers who led this project expertly with their boundless enthusiasm and creativity. Academic research support was provided by Dr Charlotte Dean (Rewilding Youth) and Dr Smriti Safaya (University of York). All film footage, audio and soundtrack was captured and created by Stewart Baxter and his fantastic team at Hinterland Creative. As part of this project we also created a Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) Toolkit which includes a training programme designed to support young people, schools and youth projects to carry out their own YPAR project.
