CINCINNATI (Deborah Dixon) -- A privileged teenager from Anderson Township was sentenced to six years, eight months in prison for a botched, violent burglary plot. David Morad is an unusual criminal. He grew up the privileged son of doctors and was a senior at the prestigious Seven Hills School. Morad apologized in court. "As I've sat here, as the haze of the drugs have worn off, as I've matured, seen that the lifestyle that I thought was cool, realized how horrible everything I've done over the past year is, I'm such a terrible person. After sitting in the courtroom and hearing Mrs. Thompson and seeing the pain it caused my family and her, it's just so hard to look at what I've done and who I am and to be quite honest, I'm scared at who I've become". Morad pleaded guilty Oct. 26, to three charges as part of an agreement with the prosecutor. He was accused of holding up a drug dealer during a deal then plotting to burglarize that person's home and carrying a concealed weapon. The twist was the house he and others planned to target was the wrong one. It belonged to a local radio host, Ann Thompson. Both the detective and Thompson believe Morad's punishment isn't enough. They don't think the sentence fits the potential crime that Morad had planned. David's twin sister, Alexis, helped plan the crime and cover up evidence. She'll be on probation for three years.
