To kick off February’s episode, we’re heading over to the WVU Center for Black Culture. The center’s director, Dr. Marjorie Fuller, and program coordinator, Eric Jordan, sit down for a conversation about the center’s history, mission and upcoming goals. Next, 4-H Youth Development Agent Liz Metheny gives us some tips and tricks on how to save money at the grocery store. Then our host Zack Harold gives us a preview of the upcoming WVU Day of Giving on March 22, 2023. One cause that is open for donations on the Day of Giving is the 4-H Camp Scholarship, in memory of 4-H All Star Donna Gail Michel. Her husband retired Revered Louis Craig Michel tells us about Donna Gail’s roots in 4-H and how this scholarship came to be. To round out this episode, WVU Extension Family Nutrition Program health educator Elizabeth Reynolds encourages us to eat our vegetables—namely brussels sprouts! She walks us through how to make a delicious and nutritious brussels sprouts slaw.
