This is a recording of my process for designing a guitar body, and for taking 2D drawings from Adobe Illustrator into 3D designs in Autodesk Fusion360. Fusion360 didn’t actually end up being strictly necessary in my final build. BUT, it did help me think through and plan out what the best guitar design would be. PS: I partially focus on preparing files for CNC routing in this video, but if I were to do this again, I would be just as likely to skip the CNC and instead prepare lasercut templates, for use with a hand router. Lasercut acrylic is relatively affordable and easy to order from websites like Ponoko and SendCutSend, and you need to use a hand router for the guitar build, anyway. CNC routers (and operators with experience who are willing to help you) can be hard to come by, so the lasercut template approach is probably a lot more practical and accessible in most cases.
