SHOCKING: EMERGENCY BRAKE APPLIED AT 200KM/H ON THE HIGH SPEED LINE onboard an IC2020 (Description)

On March 5th. 2022, i took the IC8 from Bern to Zurich (departure time 13:02). The train departed Bern 3 minutes late, nothing was unusual. Then we entered the high speed rail line, and everything was normal until we entered the Önzberg Tunnel. While inside the tunnel, i heard the emergency brake applying (you can hear the loud hydraulic sound) and the train started braking abruptly. We went from 200kmh to 20kmh in less than 30 seconds! During that braking, we traveled over 3 kilometres. Then the train kept running at 20kmh for some time (less than a minute). The brakes started smoking and it stank extremely due to the hot brakes. Then the train accelerated again up to 170kmh, but didn't return at 200kmh to not keep using the brakes more, as they were hot and there was a risk of fire. While the train was arriving at Olten, the conductor apologised for the inconvenience, and said that the emergency brakes were deployed, because people were seen walking inside the Tunnel. Ladies and Gentlemen, are you kidding me? The police didn't manage to apprehend the person yet. This just shows how extremely dangerous it is to walk on train tracks, especially on a high speed rail line and even worse: inside a tunnel. I hope this serves as a lesson for people, not to walk inside train tunnels.
