I went back to my short film with fresh eyes and identified shots that missed huge opportunities to guide the viewer's attention. In this video, I take you through my process in Blender, showing the before and after of key shots and explaining why the changes work: How to use rim lights and contrast to focus the viewer on the main character. Eliminating distracting background elements by controlling light direction. Applying the "warm vs. cold" contrast to emphasize character importance. Using unusual lighting (like lighting from below) to create an unsettling, eerie mood.
