New South Wales has reported 9 new cases of locally-acquired coronavirus, with 8 of those cases directly linked to the Northern Beaches cluster. One case announced today could be a false positive, and NSW Health are still investigating. NEW RESTRICTIONS IN PLACE FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT: The Northern Beaches peninsular zone (north of Narrabeen Bridge) will return to 'stay at home' restrictions with no indoor gatherings. People may not enter or leave the zone, and people may have up to five people gathering outside for exercise or recreation. The remainder of the Northern Beaches will also return to 'stay at home' restrictions with no indoor gatherings, and are allowed outdoor gatherings for exercise or recreation for between 5-10 people. For Greater Sydney, Central Coast, Wollongong and Nepean Blue Mountains regions, restrictions remain unchanged. A decision on New Year's Eve will be made in coming days.
