Ryu is the original main character of the Street Fighter series. Still, despite becoming one of the most iconic faces in videogame history, it doesn’t feel like Capcom wants to see much of him in competitive play. Since his glory days in the early years of Street Fighter IV, played by legend Daigo Umehara, Ryu has gone from a dominant force to an nearly forgotten fighter. Over a decade later, however, one year after the release of Street Fighter 6, a player from France emerged to catch the whole world off guard and remind everyone why Ryu is still the true hero of Street Fighter.
