I'll also tour the Galleria, an upscale shopping center at the heart of Bee Cave, and the nearby Bee Cave sculpture garden. Now there needs to be more clarity about Bee Cave vs Bee Caves. Let's clear that up. Bee Cave is the name of the city just west of Austin. Bee Caves (plural) is the name of the road the town of Bee Cave was developed around. Bee Cave is located about 25 min west of downtown Austin near Highway 71. It's a highly desirable location because of its beautiful scenic rolling hills and new home construction. The area of Bee Cave is named that because when it was originally founded, there were lots of Mexican honey bees that colonized the banks of the Barton Creek River. The Galleria is located in the center of Bee Cave, an upscale shopping center similar to The Domain. The Bee Cave city hall is even located in a large building in the center of the Galleria. They have lots of big box stores and a nice Whole Foods. Located across the street from the Galleria is the Bee Cave sculpture garden. It's tucked away behind a bunch of stores behind the Bee Cave Police Department. It's a popular park attraction in the area. Located just south of Bee Cave is the Hamilton Pool, known for its beautiful waterfall and natural cave. Unfortunately, the Hamilton Pool was closed due to high bacteria content. Also, make a reservation before you go because they will only let you enter the park with one.
