Bound for the Arctic, The Sailboat Nord Hus Arrives In Grand Marais

Explorers Lonnie Dupre and Pascale Marceau and crew will sail the Nord Hus from Grand Marais through the great lakes to the Saint Laurence Seaway and follow the Canadian North Shore to Newfoundland. Here the boat will make a major stop to prepare for the ocean passage ahead across the Labrador Sea bound for the south western shore of Greenland. From there they will follow the western shore north through the passages and islands, revisiting numerous connections from past expeditions. Finally, the crew will push further north into the arctic channel between Elsemere Island and Greenland. Here, significant preparation will occur for future expeditions. Furthermore, the crew will be conducting a variety of scientific observations in collaboration with global partners. Produced by M Baxley
