Coming out of Puerto Rico, no player from Latin America had the impact of Roberto Clemente. Originally signed by the Dodgers, he would later be drafted by the Pirates and immediately excelled in the outfield with his incredible arm and speed. And as he came into his own in the 1960s, he would become one of the best in the game and one of the best to ever play the game. Winning 12 gold gloves, making 15 all star teams, winning 2 World Series in 1960 and 1971 with him winning World Series MVP in 1971. And his last hit would be his 3,000th, with the unfortunate reason being that he would pass away in a plane crash on New Year's Eve in 1972, delivering a care package to people in Nicaragua after an Earthquake, going on to have one of the greatest legacies in MLB history.
