Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has unveiled the fully redesigned Transporter at IAA Transportation 2024. Running until September 22, visitors at the event can explore the 7th generation of this popular model at the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles booth (Hall 12). The new Transporter brings a number of improvements, offering more space, higher payloads, increased trailer capacity, and better overall efficiency. Advanced safety features and a thoughtfully designed cockpit aim to make day-to-day tasks easier for drivers. Alongside the Transporter, the CaravelleβVolkswagenβs nine-seater vanβalso made its debut. For the first time, both vehicles will be available with plug-in hybrid and electric options, in addition to their traditional turbocharged diesel engines. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles continues its tradition of providing a suitable model for every customer. The new generation follows the legacy of the original Transporter from 1949, which played a key role in Germanyβs post-war economic recovery. Now, 75 years later, the Bulli family has solidified its place in automotive history. The 2024 lineup includes the Transporter, Multivan, and ID. Buzz. The Transporter caters to commercial needs, while the Multivan is a versatile vehicle for families and professionals. The ID. Buzz, including its Cargo version, is Volkswagen's step into electric mobility. Volkswagen offers the new Transporter in various forms to meet different needs, including a panel van for cargo, a crewbus for passengers, and a double cab with a long wheelbase. The Caravelle, designed for passenger transport, is available in several versions, including an extended wheelbase option. The PanAmericana model offers an all-terrain version of both the Transporter and Caravelle for those needing off-road capability. Inside, the Transporter and Caravelle feature an ergonomic cockpit that blends digital displays with physical controls. The layout ensures ease of use, even in challenging work environments, and includes USB, 12V, and 230V power outlets, especially useful in hybrid and electric versions. In terms of performance, the Transporter panel van with a standard wheelbase now offers over 10% more storage, increasing to 5.8 cubic meters. With a long wheelbase and high roof, that volume grows to 9 cubic meters, and the van can handle up to 1.33 tonnes of payload. The trailer weight has also been increased to a maximum of 2.8 tonnes for the braked version. There will be seven engine options at launch, including three turbocharged diesel engines (TDI), a plug-in hybrid, and three electric variants. The TDI engines range from 110 PS to 170 PS, with an 8-speed automatic transmission available on higher-end models. The plug-in hybrid combines an automatic gearbox with a total power output of 232 PS. The fully electric models offer 136 PS, 218 PS, and 286 PS, powered by a 64 kWh battery. #VWTransporter #Caravelle #IAATransportation2024 Get More Great Car Videos - Subscribe: https://goo.gl/BSIaFc
