Here is the Colt Combat Commander vintage 1979 which completes the "Hat Trick Week". I have a long loving relationship with the M1911 being a huge fan of John M. Browning and always felt that this model brought it all home for that design. With the slide shortened from 7 3/8'' to 6 5/8'' and the barrel shortened from 5'' to 4.25'' the Combat Commander feels a bit more light on its feet and its all steel construction settles the nerves of the "alloy weary" traditionalists.
