Dynamic Mic Shootout - Shure SM7B vs Beyerdynamic M201 TG

Setup: SM7B (+76db gain) / M201 TG (+73db) going into a MixPre3 II - Phantom Power is turned off for both mics. This video is about comparing 2 excellent dynamic microphones for dialogue/voice over. The Shure SM7B Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone vs the Beyerdynamic M201 TG Hypercardioid Dynamic Instrument Microphone. Both of these mics are very gain hungry, I used +76db for the SM7B and +73db of gain for the M201 TG. Since I am not doing any post processing to the audio, except for Loudness normalization, I wanted the audio to be loud and legible for the audience/viewers. Both mics were captured at the same time using a MixPre3 II. This is a very good professional recorder that should not color or taint the audio results. Phantom power was not used for either mic since dynamic mics normally do not require phantom power. I will be switching back and forth between the 2 mics during the video so you can judge for yourself which mic sounds better to your ears.
