This is my tribute to my very dear friend Martin Dare who suddenly passed away 15th February 2026. Martin entertained thousands of viewers on his Martin Dare’s Dinky Restorations YouTube channel    / @martindaredare   and countless of others that got to meet him in person. I unfortunately did not get to meet Martin in the flesh and go with him and the other Diecast and Scale Modellers (DSMC) members, Paul Jones (PJ Mid Life Models),    / @midlifemodels   Bryan Dray, (In Search of Lost Diecast)    / @diecastbryan   Lee Jackson (Diecast Fixer Uppers)    / @diecastfixeruppers8516   Phil N (Yorkies Diecast Workshop)    / @diecast-workshop   MOS (MOS6510 Models)    / @mos6510models   Andy Bourne (Andy’s Garage Diecast Restorations)    / @andysgaragediecastrestorations   Luke Sampson (Scaled Customs)    / @scaledcustoms   to any of the toy fairs such as Stafford, Doncaster, and Dagfields, as I live in Australia, (wish we teleporters like in Star Trek). However I did meet Martin and the others on our Friday night virtual Tavern. Even though we may live many miles apart we ALL became very close friends, firstly through our hobby and even closer friends through our screens in the TAVERN.
