Step into the Forgotten Realms with this original bardic ballad honoring Drizzt Do'Urden, the legendary drow ranger who defied his dark heritage to walk a path of honor. Inspired by R.A. Salvatore's iconic character, this song tells the story of exile, loyalty, and heroism with a special tribute to his panther companion, Guenhwyvar. I was the editor of Forgotten Realms books for many years and of course I thoroughly enjoyed bringing the Drizzt books to readers. I wanted to pay a small tribute with this song. I wrote the lyrics using ChatGPT and some other AI tools. Then I used Suno AI with the lyrics I have. Lyrics: In caverns deep where shadows dwell, A drow was born, defied the hell. With twin blades bright and heart unchained, He walked a path where none remained. From Menzoberranzan's cruel domain, He fled the dark, forsook the chain. Through Underdark and storm-swept land, He bore his blades with steady hand. The exile bold with blades in hand, Eyes of amethyst, firm he’d stand. To evil’s call he never kneeled, His name was sung on every field. The North wind calls through Icewind Dale, Where frost and fang and war prevail. Yet there he stood, against the horde, His blades the law, his will the sword. With Guenhwyvar at his side, The black panther, fierce and wide. Summoned forth from mystic plane, A silent ghost in midnight rain. He walked alone, the exile bold, With heart defiant, spirit cold. No tyrant's rule could make him kneel, His legend carved in blood and steel. Elves may weep and dwarves may sing, Men will toast in tavern ring. The tale of one who dared to be, Not what he was, but truly free. With Wulfgar, Regis, Catti-brie, Bruenor bold, his family. He faced the dark, he faced the gods, He walked through fate’s unyielding odds. The exile bold through shadow passed, Defied his fate, stood to the last. They speak his name in northern halls, Drizzt, the blade when darkness falls.
