Welcome to Travel Alchemist! In this video, we continue our journey along Thailand’s scenic coastal train lines, heading south from Bangkok through some incredible off-the-beaten-path destinations. If you love authentic Thai culture, wildlife encounters, and stunning views, this is the route for you! Stops Along the Way: Phetchaburi: A charming town with a hilltop chedi offering panoramic views. Be cautious of the mischievous macaques here! We also experienced epic thunderstorms, which made our stay unforgettable. Hua Hin: A vibrant beachside destination. We enjoyed a local festival and climbed Wat Khao Takiap for incredible views. Prachuap Khiri Khan: My absolute favourite! With its laid-back vibe, weekend night markets, and local culture, it’s a must-visit. Highlights in Prachuap Khiri Khan: Ao Manao & Khao Lom Muak: Visit this small bay within the air force base, where you’ll meet the friendly spectacled langurs (dusky leaf monkeys). Bring some raw peanuts for an unforgettable encounter! Don’t forget your passport to access the base. Kui Buri National Park: Thailand’s premier destination to see wild Asian elephants. The park offers informal safari experiences where you can spot elephants, their calves, and even oriental pied hornbills in their natural habitat. Why Take This Route? This stretch of Thailand is often overlooked by travellers rushing to the southern islands. But with cheap, scenic train rides and access to unique wildlife and authentic Thai culture, it’s a journey worth taking. For more tips and detailed guides, visit my blog at travelalchemist.blog.
