On March 24, 2024, I traveled from Louisville, Kentucky to Hopkinsville to visit my daughter and my son-in-law at their new church home, Mount Olive Baptist Church. It was truly a blessing to be there and to experience such a warm and loving welcome from the congregation. The service was especially meaningful as the church celebrated the birthday of Pastor Joe T. Leavell, alongside First Lady Tierra Leavell. The celebration was filled with love, joy, and appreciation for their leadership and dedication to the ministry. The guest speaker, a longtime childhood friend of Pastor Leavell from Flint, Michigan, delivered a powerful sermon about greatness—reminding us to pay attention to the signs God gives us and to trust the process. He spoke on how greatness requires going through challenges, hard times, and life experiences in order to grow and achieve what God has placed in us. I truly enjoyed worshiping with Mount Olive Baptist Church and felt honored to be there supporting my daughter and son-in-law. It was a beautiful service, a powerful word, and a day I will always remember.
